Snippe operates under the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, including the National Payment System Act, 2015, the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022, the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2006, and the Electronic and Postal Communications Act, 2010. We are subject to oversight by the Bank of Tanzania.
To use our Services, you must create an account with accurate information. You must be at least 18 years old, have legal authority to enter into these Terms, and maintain the security of your credentials. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts at our discretion.
Business Users must complete KYC verification before processing live transactions, including business registration documents, TIN and tax certificates from TRA, national identification (NIDA ID or passport) for owners and directors, bank account or mobile money details, and any additional documentation required by regulators.
We conduct ongoing due diligence in accordance with the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2006.
Snippe provides:
We may modify or discontinue any aspect of our Services with reasonable notice.
Fees are deducted before settlement unless otherwise agreed. Settlement schedules vary by payment method. We may modify fees with thirty (30) days written notice. We may place holds on funds where there is elevated risk.
You shall not use our Services for money laundering, terrorist financing, or any illicit financial activity. We may report suspicious transactions to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) without prior notice and may freeze funds where we have reasonable grounds to suspect illegal activity.
You may not use our Services for illegal activity, fraud, sale of prohibited goods, circumventing sanctions or transaction limits, unauthorized access to our infrastructure, or collecting End Customer data in violation of the PDPA.
You agree to comply with all applicable laws, disclose your refund and cancellation policies to End Customers, maintain security measures to protect customer data, and cooperate with us on fraud investigations. You must notify us of changes to your business information or regulatory status.
Snippe processes End Customer data on behalf of Business Users under the PDPA. Business Users remain the data controllers for their customer data and must maintain their own compliant privacy policy. Both parties shall implement appropriate security measures. In the event of a data breach, the discovering party shall promptly notify the other and cooperate in notifying the Personal Data Protection Commission as required by law.
See our Privacy Policy for full details.
All Snippe content, software, trademarks, and IP are owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use our Services for their intended purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by Tanzanian law, Snippe is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
You agree to indemnify Snippe against claims arising from your use of the Services, violation of these Terms or applicable law, disputes with End Customers, or failure to comply with PDPA or AML requirements.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if required by law or regulatory directive, or if we suspect fraudulent activity. You may close your account at any time, subject to settlement of outstanding obligations. Upon termination, we may retain records as required by Tanzanian law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Parties agree to attempt good-faith negotiation for thirty (30) days before formal proceedings. Unresolved disputes may be referred to arbitration in Dar es Salaam or to the courts of Tanzania.
We may update these Terms with at least thirty (30) days notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
